such a bad blogger....and cards

Seriously, so bad....
Whave I been you ask? I've been right here, just too busy to sit down and tell you all what's going on with me.
For those not interested in what happened over the summer, you can just skip to the bottom, there's cards there.

Couple things have happened since my last post. I cut 11+ inches of hair off my head and donated it again. I do have some before and afters, they are all terrible, but that's ok.

After:

Sorry, but I did warn you that it's not the greatest picture.

My Grandmother celebrated her 80th birthday in August, and we were there for that.
Such a fun time, all my mom's side of the family were able to be there, and the women of the family, daughters, and granddaughters sang Grandma a song as part of the program. I couldn't sing, I lost my voice just days before. poo!

isn't she just the cutest!

My husband and I celebrated 10 years of married bliss. We went to a dinner theatre, we got a hotel room, so cool! It was a theme room, and my hubby gave me something really cool! Totally surprised, didn't see it coming. A trip to Hawaii in November. I CAN'T WAIT!! I'm just a little excited. Here are a few shots of our hotel room.

Our son started grade 1 this year. It's hard to believe that he's 6 already. Man time flies. Here is kiddo on his first day of school.

We've also started him in horseback riding lesson this fall. We thought it would be very theraputic to have him in something like that, and he loves it! The best part is that his Auntie teaches him, so it someone he's already comfortable with. BIG bonus!
Here's a picture of him his first lesson.

I haven't done too much in the way of stamping. I kinda lost my mojo, and with the nice weather, and my son being home it's hard to find time to just do it.

I did manange to get two cards done this summer. I know, two, how lame, but it's something.
This first one was for my friends little guy. He turned 7 this summer.
I used a new set from Stampin' Up! Bits and Bots, I think it's called, and some Basic Grey Papers, Granola.

This next card I made just because, no reason for it, just needed to do it.
The stamp is from Stampin' Up! and the pattern paper is again, from Basic Grey, from their Wisteria line.

Here are two more projects I've just done this week. One is another birthday card for a little boy. I thought it was super sweet. The patterned paper was given to me by a friend so I have no idea where it came from, but the stamp set is a new one from Stampin' Up! Greetings Earthing.

This second project is something I made at my friend Christy's place . She was showing a bunch of us girls how to quilt using, get this, her Big Shot Machine!! With the exception of the large background piece all the other pieces were cut using her Big Shot. How cool is that?! I haven't finished sewing it yet, there just wan't time. We are going to be making quilts this year at her place using just her Big Shot! So awesome!

So that's just a quick update. Well it was meant o be quick, lol!
Hopefully I will be back on here again soon.
I do have projects on the go, so that should bring me back sooner.

Sumer Vacation

So we are currently in Limon Colorado, fighting off HUGE swarms of mosquitos. EW! Any other year, and I wouldn't be complaining, Alberta is bad for mosquitos too, but, this year there's a drought, and we've had none. Than heavens for bug spray that's all I can say.
Anyway, it's been a long trip so far. and it seems like ages ago that we started out from home.
We took a cross Canada trek to see family in Springside Saskatchewan, and then some good friends in Ottawa. That was really nice we had beaver tails, sooo yummy, and we went to the splash park, and we saw the parliament buildings, and got our own personal tour of Ottawa. Kiddo had a blast too playing with four new friends.
From Ottawa we went to Montreal. So beautiful there, DH thought the road signs were a little confusing though, they were all in French after all. We went to see old, downtown Montreal, and we went to the Notre Dame Basillica It was SOO beautiful! And they had a presentation on the history of that church and of Montreal, it was quite cool actually.
We headed down town, and there was a fire juggler on the street, and Kiddo was asked to be a part of his show, It was super cool. and the little shops and markets I always find interesting. It would have been even nicer if it wasn't raining, but.. it was a fun time
Those were the exciting parts, the rest is camping and driving, and driving, and more driving. That's a whole 'nother ball of wax.

I'll fill you all in later with pictures. I did manage to get hubby to stop at an Archievers, we don't have then in Canada, and oh how I love them.

Anyway, there is a little boy here who needs some afterbite, and itch relief cream put one. I'll talk to you later.

Finally... something to share.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I think I may have found my mojo.
It's still no back in full force yet, but I think I have a good possibility of fully regaining it.

I wanted to share with you the baby announcements that I made for my sisters' new little guy. Her specifications were, she wanted a picture, no pastels, had to have a sock monkey, and she is doing his nursery in browns and rusts, and some other boy colours. The rest was up to me.
This is what I came up with, I think I did pretty well fitting everything in and still making it look cute, and boyish.
She will also be using them as thank-you cards for the gifts that she's gotten for baby.
Here is the front view.

And the inside top, the bottom is blank for her to write whatever it is she wants to write.

I hope you enjoyed these.
Happy Stamping

still here, part two

Well it seems with all the drama in my life that I have misplaced my stamping mojo. I have not made a card in I don't know how long. I have recovered my son's home/school communication book, and it rocks, but that's really about it.

For the last, I don't know how many weeks now, I have been fighting strep throat, an ear infection, and now bronchitis. Ah I love the spring. lol! Next come allergies. It's no wonder that I love the fall, there is next to nothing in that season that makes me wheeze and sneeze.

So I do have some fun news since I was last on. I am an Auntie again!! WOOT! My sister, who has the most gorgeous little girl ever, Here's proof. This is her this Easter at my parents house.

Anyway, my sister who is mommy to this gorgeous little girl, has adopted the sweetest little boy, all the way from Florida. He's so tiny, and beautiful, and he sleeps, unlike his big sister. He's up to a whopping 6 lbs. now.
here is Baby C.

Doesn't he have just the sweetest face? I haven't had the chance to meet this little man yet, but I am hoping to get down to see them soon.

Anyway, That's it for today, I have a sandbox to try and repair, and paint.
Take care.

I'm a little late

Just to be clear, I'm a little late as in posting, not a little late as in pregnant.
We have one of my other nieces here for the week, and being a parent to a teenager is very time consuming, which is why I am late posting. It has been a HUGE blessing to have her here. I am thankful that she is able to be stay with us for the week. Here's a picture of "M" last night at dinner. See M, it's not on facebook.

Well now that being said! I wanted to share with you my weekend with my sweet, sweet niece "D". Her Mom and Dad were gone for the weekend, and we got her. We had so much fun, and she is such a sweetie, and she plays so nice with my kiddo. She loves crafts, I love crafts, we had a blast Saturday afternoon making cards. She wasn't thrilled I took pictures, but whatever, I want to have pictures to look back on of our fun time.

Here is D hard at work, making a card, I do believe, for her Grandma.

I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the finished card that D made, she made it, and got it into an envelope before I could get my camera out. I did get a picture of the envelope that she made.

Here is the card that D made for her Auntie

Here is a shot of the mess we made on the table

And here are the projects that I made. The first one is a card for my aunt and uncle who's' 30 something year anniversary is next week.
I made it using the Saturday sketch over at Jen del Muro's blog

And my second project was a little something for my dad. Here's a little back story, when I was in kindergarten I made a soup can with some wrapping paper on it to be used as a pen cup, for my Dad for Christmas. What I didn't know was that until just this last year it has been on his desk holding his pencils, and pens. The paper finally faded and the glue let go, and it was just a sad tin can again, so Dad retired it. I wanted to make him something to replace it. So kiddo and I went to my Local craft store, and we checked out what they had. Kiddo saw the Harley's and that was it. Funny thing is my Dad loves motorcycles of all kinds, so it was perfect. I sent it home, and when he opened it apparently he got all misty, and just couldn't get over it.

Well that's it for today,
Happy Hump day y'all!
